Nurturing an Intimate Personal Relationship with God

I am not sure if I might have stumbled upon something or that God planted a seed in me that He has been cultivating through the years. There is definitely something that I have found that I would love to share with anyone that desires to obtain it. I truly believe that our Creator wants to have the closest of personal relationships with those He made and the only thing that separates us from achieving that goal is our desire to pursue it. In essence, the more you desire God the more you are drawn into His loving arms. You were created just for that particular purpose.

You might ask, ‘how can that be?’ God is Spirit and we are carnal beings so that would be like mixing something that is formless with something that is formed. Even more analogous would be like mixing air with steel. Two substances that have nothing in common would not appear to be even joinable. That is an obstacle that only appears to be real but I assure it is not. Bear with me for a ride because I hope to bridge that gap if the Spirit is willing. One of my favorite writers of the New Testament of the Holy Bible is the apostle Paul who wrote this in the book of Romans 8:38–39

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

In order to grasp my message here, you would have to understand the basic fundamentals of Christian philosophy because the vortex that opens the gateway to our Father Creator is in Christ. I will attempt to bridge that gap for you with scripture. If you do not know this person referred to as Christ then you will not be able to bridge the gap that I will be referencing because it is through this door that the gates of heaven were opened for us.

Most of you already know that there are two distinct realities of existence. The first is that of the heavens, which is the Abode of God. It is also known as the world of Spirit, which has tiers and various distinctions and entities. It is also an unformed reality. The other one is the world of form. It is the physical manifested existence that we are currently passing through as a formed human being. But we are not just a physical being we are also a spirit being living currently in a carnal body. This means our eternal essence is similar to our Creator as a spirit being that is also formless and eternal. Even though our bodies will die and be discarded our soul and spirit continues its eternal journey. That requires a much deeper conversation but it is important to know that having an intimate relationship with God is more from Spirit to spirit rather than formed to unformed. God communicates to us through our spirit and soul.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” This is the very first sentence of the Holy Bible that was written by the prophet Moses: Genesis 1:1. I will not cover this here but you might find it interesting reading. Just know that God created these two distinct realities in the beginning. Obviously the abode of God does not have time, as we know it to exist in the physical world of form. Time is a part of physical existence but it is not the same in the world of spirit. Eternal existence has no clock reference. For the sake of this essay I just want to make the point of the two separate forms of existence because it is essential to understand this in order to know how we communicate with God. It is not by verbal and visual means but through spirit, which has very little to do with your eyes and ears. Many reference this as through your heart. God knows your heart but even that is not speaking about the physical organ that keeps our bodies alive. Our spirit and soul is at the core of our being so it is referenced as the heart, which is the essential core of your physical body. Your soul and spirit are not of the earth but passing through for divine purposes designed by your Creator. So, in the beginning, God created the world of form that we are passing through as spirit beings in a physical embodiment.

Another essential passage of scripture that will help bridge the gap would be John 1:1 that talks about a different beginning even before the world of form came into existence.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.”

I mentioned Christ earlier but before He was Christ He was the Word that was with God in the beginning before the world was formed and that later became flesh for us. He was manifested here on earth, died here, and returned back to the abode of God in heaven so it is through this vortex that we will also pass back through. This passage lets you know that is was through the Word that all things were made including our souls and spirits. Our essence was with the Word in the beginning but not yet manifested into the world of form on your birthday here on earth. In the Word was also life and that life was the light of all mankind, which includes us.

So back here on earth in this current time, we find ourselves born in a physical body that houses our souls and spirit on a temporary assignment to learn the things that God wants us to experience in order to nurture our eternal spirit being. Since so many people are not even aware of their spiritual essence naturally they would not be attempting to communicate with their Creator. Their soul and spirit are in them basically sleeping or waiting to be activated with purpose. This divine purpose comes from the Maker but even without conscious knowledge of what the soul is experiencing it is doing what God assigned of it, which is acquiring wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that stays eternally with the soul. This also lets us know that God assigned us here at this station of life for purposes that He only knows. He wants us to know our divine purposes and reasons for going through our life experiences. Therefore it is important but not essential that we develop this intimate personal relationship with our Father and Creator so we can get about the business learning what our souls need to acquire during our eternal journey.

We are not left alone in this godforsaken land but we have helpers and guardian angels that journey with us and guide us mostly without our knowledge unless we wish to acknowledge the presence of our spiritual helpers. The chief Helper is that of the Holy Spirit that is God in Spirit, and in us. Christ again said that when He returned to be with His Father in heaven that He would leave us a Helpmate that would essentially coordinate the two distinct realms for us from earth to heaven. Luke 24:49–51

“I am going to send you what My Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high. When He had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, He lifted up His hands and blessed them. While He was blessing them, He left them and was taken up into heaven.”

That gift to mankind that Christ mentioned in this passage was the gift of the Holy Spirit. We are to be clothed with the power from on high, a gift from God that will be with us and live in us to remind us of the teachings of Christ, and to shine the light lead us into the righteous paths showing the way to return us to our true home in the spiritual realm.

There is much more I could share with you by way of scripture but that is the reason why people attend their worship houses, temples and synagogues in order to learn about such things. If you wish to learn more about God then you have to put in the effort. You must be the one who seeks because he or she who seeks, finds what they are seeking. He or she that asks of God will be answered by God. And to those who knock on the doors of heaven… they will be opened widely for them. But there are things and requirements of you before you are allowed entrance. Part of that is what you are supposed to be learning during this earthly passage on assignment.

Sorry for the long essay but the entire point of this message is about us nurturing a very up-close and intimate relationship with our Father that is in heaven. He wants you near and dear to Him and is prepared to draw you near if you desire Him. Like the great apostle Paul wrote, there is nothing nowhere in existence that can separate you from the love of God that is contained in our Lord Christ Jesus. The dilemma for some is the fact that they do not believe in Christ and that is a gap that I cannot bridge. Either you believe in Him or you do not. Here is what Christ had to say about that: John 6:44–48

“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me. No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life.”

When we take communion we symbolically join with Christ by partaking in a ritual to eat of His flesh and drink of His blood. That would be John 6:53–56. I don’t make this stuff up so read it for your own peace of mind.

Scripture is quite clear about everything that I have brought to your attention in this essay but now the ball is in your hands. Do you wish to have that personal relationship with your Heavenly Father or do you wish to play this game of life by your set of rules. God is an IWIS… that means He is a certainty. Nothing else in all of existence can make that claim… Selah!
