The State of the Nation, And of the World
I feel a need to post this essay in real-time that should reveal what is to unfold in the days and weeks to come. Currently, it is 3:20 am PST here on the west coast in California on the morning right after our 2020 US national elections. The nation is on pins and needles because what we are witnessing is a revelation of the soul of America. The reveal is not only that the nation fully divided, but more importantly what is dividing the nation. This should be our main concern. Many want to place the weight of the blame upon the character of a very bombastic president but even though his acts and poor leadership are revealing, he alone cannot change the hearts and minds of the people… in spite of making that very statement. He is only extracting what is already in the people. He is the conduit that is causing their true spirit to be revealed.
At this point, you will see a lot of talking heads on television and throughout the media outlets trying to explain what happened and why it happened. Little do they know that when a person has cancer and did not know it, they become more concerned about if they will live or die. Most people don’t worry about what caused cancer, but only if they can be cured. In a similar manner, America has found out that it has deadly cancer. We should be trying to find out if we can be cured or if this nation headed towards the death of what we assumed we were becoming. American has never been what she proclaimed to be, but the idea was noble and great. It gave us something to reach for… it gave us hope. Our disappointment is more that we thought we were further along the path of unity than what is revealed.
From God’s perspective, this is all about revealing to the nation just who and what we are. If you indeed claim to be a nation under God with liberty and justice for all, then God will not be mocked. He has His standards and rules. You are either on the side of godliness or you are not. There is no middle ground. God says that you are either for or against Him and you must make a stand. So let us look at what the divide of this nation is all about. Matthew 12: 30–32
It is very obvious that the line of separation is currently drawn between those who support and thereby believe in the man on the top of the leadership and those who do not. The leader of the nation determines how the nation sails. It is like the captain of the ship steers the ship in the manner in which it travels. Even though a president does not have absolute authority to unilaterally guide the nation by his own power, he has a say in the policies by which we are governed. In this case, character matters so dearly because his character is what moves the masses of the people that support him. He is the head of the snake. The body only goes where the head takes it. If we want to know where we are headed, we need to identify the head. The body can only follow where the head takes it.
Each one of us needs to determine what we feel to be right, wrong, or indifferent. At this point, we need to identify the head of the body and the character that is being revealed. By majority opinion, this man is a divider. He divides the people he leads by cultural, racial, moral, and financial worthiness lines. Rather than bringing people together, he tears them apart. How does one measure such a person? If you are a believer place his character besides what you know to be God’s character. That should give you a good idea about the man.
Perhaps godly standards are too strict of a measure to judge someone so let’s just judge him by the standards of human decency or kindness. This man is all about his selfish gains and by his own actions shows that he cares very little about others outside of himself. Is that a quality that we consider to be decent or kind? This man lies more than not. Is that a characteristic we consider decent? We don’t need to judge anyone by the standards that God set because most certainly we would certainly fall short. However, we should always hold up each other to human decency because our acts, thoughts, and deeds impact each other. If you willfully do things that cause harm to others… that should not be a standard that we are willing to accept from anyone, most certainly not the leader of what was considered questionably the greatest nation on the planet.
To other nations that once considered us to be a shining city on a hill, that image has all be been destroyed. We are becoming the laughingstock of the world. Our underbelly has been exposed. One man has revealed things (truth) about us that even we were unwilling to accept because we held out hope that our dream of a nation under God indivisibly for all would one day ring true. Sadly that day has been pushed so far away from us that who knows how long it will take to rebuild our reputation in the world. The rest of the world can now see the true nation that killed the native inhabitants and used African slaves to build the nation. For all these years we had an image of hope but now that hope has been shattered. Can it be rebuilt? We have yet to discover.
At this point, I need to express my views about what is truly happening. If you are not a believer, you might not want to hear what I have to say. God don’t like ugly! God doesn’t like sin and evil. God is full of grace and mercy, but He has His limits. If we wish to destroy the very ground that He created and gave us dominion over then have at it. From ashes to ashes it will all return. But the immortal souls that inhabit these tents that we live within are not subject to the laws of man but unto God’s Law. God lets us know quite clearly when we have strayed away from His pathway. If we do not listen or take precautions, He is willing to allow human suffering. But the souls that belong to Him will only come back home. God has always been using this place as a grooming ground for immortal souls. Each one of them is accountable to God alone, regardless of the tents they inhabit for the brief period that they walk the earth.
We are at a reflection point. We are at a point where we must decide who we truly are. It is not about democrats, republicans, or independents. It is about the line drawn by the Author of our immortal souls. You are either for Him or against Him and you must decide. The door is still open but not for long. Seek the Lord while he can be found. This is not about what your eyes reveal but about what the Spirit is revealing to us.
“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.” Isaiah 55:6–7
The Lord wants all His people to take heed. Selah!
